The Australia's Voice senator had the second-highest family travel claims of any federal politician in 2024-25: $41,438. IPEA's records show $69,351 over two years. No review has found a breach.

When the ABC ranked federal politicians' family travel for 2024-25, Senator Fatima Payman came second, behind only Trade Minister Don Farrell. IPEA's quarterly figures match the ABC's to the dollar: $41,438.

Most of it was claimed in the second half of 2024, the months around her departure from Labor and the launch of her own party. Her family travel fell to $27,913 in 2025-26, and to $4,305 in the first quarter after the January 2026 rule changes.

IPEA has published no review of her family travel, and there is no finding that it broke the rules as they stood.
