Terms of use and disclaimer
The terms on which we publish this website, and the limits of what it is for.
By using this website you agree to these terms.
General information only
The content on this website is published for general information and public interest reporting. It is not legal, financial, tax, investment or other professional advice, and it doesn't take your personal circumstances into account. Before making any decision based on something you read here, check the original sources we link to and get advice from a qualified professional.
Accuracy
We take care to make our content accurate and to source every factual claim, as set out in our editorial standards. But information changes, figures are revised, and we may make mistakes. Some figures, such as our debt clock, are estimates based on official data and are labelled as such. We don't guarantee that all content is complete, current or free of errors. If you find an error, please tell us through our corrections and complaints policy.
Opinion
Some content expresses our opinion, such as The pub test. Opinion content is labelled, and is based on the facts set out alongside it. It is our view, offered as a contribution to public debate.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, this website or its content, including loss caused by errors, omissions or delays in updating information.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot be excluded.
Links to other websites
We link to other websites, mainly to our sources. We don't control those websites and aren't responsible for their content or availability.
Tips and submissions
If you send us a tip, story or documents, you confirm that you are entitled to share them. We may use the information in our reporting, and we may edit or decline to publish anything you send. We will not publish your name without your permission. See send us a tip.
Shouts
A shout is a voluntary, one-off tip for reporting we have already published. It isn't a charitable donation or a political donation, it isn't tax deductible, and it doesn't buy any goods, services, access or influence over what we publish. Payments are processed by Stripe, and we don't receive your card details. If you paid by mistake, email contact@aussieoutrage.com within 30 days and we will refund you.
Copyright
Our original writing, charts and design are our copyright. You're welcome to share links to our stories and to quote short extracts with a link back to the source. Please don't republish whole stories or charts without our permission. Material we quote from others remains the property of its owners.
Contact
For general enquiries, email contact@aussieoutrage.com. To report an error or make a complaint, use our corrections and complaints policy.
