The Northern Territory senator repaid $387.50 after claiming a night's travel allowance in Canberra when she was actually in Melbourne, which she called an oversight.
The smallest breach on our list. In August 2024, Senator Price claimed travel allowance for a stay in Canberra from 12 to 18 August, but spent 15 to 17 August in Melbourne on sponsored travel. She hadn't claimed taxpayer-funded flights to Melbourne, but she had claimed the Canberra allowance for the night of the 15th.
She told IPEA it was an oversight, and repaid $387.50 including a 25% penalty. A separate IPEA review of her sponsored trip to a Gold Coast conference in 2023 found nothing wrong.
