The Labor MP repaid $4,183.10 after the expenses watchdog found she and her husband flew to Perth at taxpayers' expense three days before her committee work began, for personal reasons.

In January 2023, Louise Miller-Frost was due in Western Australia for site visits and hearings of the Workforce Australia Employment Services select committee, starting on the 29th. She and her husband flew to Perth on the 26th.

She told IPEA she went early to get used to the time difference, after ten months of campaigning, an election and a hectic first nine months as an MP. IPEA accepted the committee work was genuine and found that part of the trip within the rules, but said the early flights were for personal reasons. She could reasonably have flown the day before.

She repaid the airfares plus a 25% penalty: $4,183.10.
